The LBA’s Placement Service is currently working with an east end Louisville title agency that is seeking a paralegal to perform a variety of managerial, secretarial and paralegal duties. Candidates should have a minimum of three years’ experience with real estate closings, banking or accounting experience. Duties may include preparing real estate closing documents, overseeing and managing the office closing schedule, taking initial title requests, resolving title issues, communications with banks and real estate agents, preparing and overseeing closing files, preparing post-closing documents including final title policies, managing and balancing escrow accounts, and filing required yearly reports.  The ability to prioritize duties and multitask is a necessity. The ideal candidate must be well organized, a creative self-starter who shows initiative, possesses strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work well under deadlines. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and QUALIA (or some other real estate closing software) is a plus. Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail in composing, typing and proof-reading documents, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. The candidate must be able to work well with others, and be able to comprehend, digest and retain instructions without the need for constant supervision. Work hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, M-F. Salary and benefits are negotiable based upon experience. Benefits include personal/sick time, two weeks’ vacation, health insurance and a company 401(k) retirement plan.
